How do I change a user's Skillset?

Use this article when you need to update a team member’s Skillset so their goals and coaching focus on the right skills.

What is a Skillset?
Skillsets are an important part of the YakTrak platform. They:

  • Control which skills appear as areas of focus for goals and coaching.
  • Ensure team members are being coached to the most relevant skills.
  • Help your organisation understand which skills are coached most often and measure speed to competence.

Who can update Skillsets?

  • Leaders can update the Skillsets of team members in their own team.
  • Administrators can update Skillsets for any user in the organisation.

How to update a Skillset

Step 1: Open the team member’s profile

  1. From the YakTrak main menu, click Members.
  2. You’ll see all team members you have permission to update.
  3. Click the name of the team member whose Skillset you want to change.

Step 2: Edit the Skillset

  1. In the team member’s profile, find the Skillset section.
  2. Click the pencil (edit) icon next to Skillset.
  3. A dropdown list of available Skillsets will appear.
  4. Select the Skillset that is most relevant for this team member.
  5. Click the Save icon to the right of the Skillset.

The updated Skillset will now be used in goals and coaching, wherever Skillsets are configured for your organisation.
