This article provides you information on the different statuses within the goal lifecycle.
A goal can have one of five different statuses during its lifecycle. These statuses are indicated by traffic light indicator.
- Active - Green
- A new goal, the team member is working on the goal currently and is able to update the notes and add attachments to show evidence of their progress towards this goal. No leader intervention is required at this point.

- Pending Approval - Amber
- This status indicates the team member has marked the goal as complete and is waiting for their leader to close the loop and approve the goal.

- Complete - Blue
- Once the leader has clicked 'Mark Approved' the goal will move to a status of 'Complete' and will be removed from both the team member's and team leader's Goals widget. The goal will now be visible in your 'Goal History'
- Overdue - Red
- Both the team member and team leader have not updated the status of the goal prior to the 'due date' lapsing. The goal is now in a status of 'Overdue' and requires the leader to update the status of the goal.
As a leader, if you want to update the status of the goal from overdue to active, please ensure you also update the due date to a date in the future.
- Incomplete - Red
- A leader has the ability to mark the goal as 'Incomplete', this will typically happen Once the goal is in a status of 'Pending Approval' or 'Overdue'. Leaders are encouraged to mark a goal as 'Incomplete' if it was not achieved, rather than changing the goal or updating the due date.
Leaders will be notified on their Team dashboard and via email (if enabled), about goals requiring their intervention. Generally, this will be if a member has marked their goal as complete or if one of the team member's goal has gone past the due date.
