# How does Yaktivity work? How is it calculated?

## This article aims to provide an overview of what 'Yaktivity' is and how it is calculated.

For team leaders, Yaktivity is accessible on your Team dashboard and offers valuable insights into the consistency of your activity performance over time. It assesses the number of mandatory activities against those you have successfully completed. This evaluation spans a rolling 3-month period, providing a comprehensive overview of your team's activity consistency.

### How Yaktivity is calculated:

1. **Required Activities**: YakTrak compiles all mandatory activities for your team members, encompassing coaching sessions, one-on-one meetings, and other job-specific tasks. It also incorporates any required meetings you need to attend, adhering to their specified frequency (such as weekly or bi-weekly).
2. **Completed Activities**: The system monitors the count of successfully completed activities during the same timeframe.
3. **Calculate Yaktivity Percentage**: The Yaktivity score is calculated by taking the number of completed activities and dividing it by the total number of required activities over the past three months. This resulting percentage provides insight into the consistency with which essential activities are being accomplished.

Over the rolling 3-month period, your team is expected to complete a total of 102 mandatory activities. For instance, if you successfully complete 51 of these required activities, your Yaktivity score would be:

Yaktivity = (51/102​) × 100 = 50%

A higher Yaktivity percentage reflects greater consistency in completing your required activities. Maintaining a stable Yaktivity score demonstrates reliable performance over time, confirming that all essential tasks are being effectively managed.
